Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.18
This issue typically occurs due to a corruption in the downloaded patch file or a transient failure during the OS package update process where rsyslog fails to re-register properly, causing the update workflow to exit prematurely.
To resolve this issue, you must revert the appliance to its previous state and retry the upgrade with a fresh patch file.
Prerequisites: Ensure you have a valid snapshot taken prior to the failed update attempt.
Steps:
Revert to Snapshot:
Log in to the vCenter Server managing the VRSLCM appliance.
Right-click the VRSLCM VM and select Snapshots > Manage Snapshots.
Select the snapshot taken immediately before the upgrade attempt and select Revert.
Power on the VM and wait for the services to initialize.
Download Latest Patch:
Download a fresh copy of the vrslcm-8.18.0-Patch5.patch file
