Unable to remove WAN-Optimization service from Compute Profile

Issue/Introduction

Below error is seen when attempting to remove WAN-Optimization service from Compute Profile.

Error : 

Error updating Compute Profile.
The following services cannot be disabled since they are already in use by the following Service Meshes: WANOPT -> <Service_Mesh_Name>

Environment

VMware HCX
VMware Cloud on AWS [VMC]

Cause

The WAN-Optimization service should be removed from Service Mesh first.

Resolution

Implement the below steps in order :

1. Remove WAN-Optimization Appliance : Before upgrading the HCX Manager, need to first remove all existing WAN-Optimization Appliances from all service meshes.
   This can be done by navigating to:
   
   HCX Standalone/443 UI → Interconnect → Service Mesh -- Edit — unselect WAN-Optimization service, which will trigger un-deployment of WAN-Optimization service VM from both source and target HCX Managers.
   
   
2. Deselect WAN-Optimization Appliance : After removal, deselect the WAN-Optimization appliance from all Compute Profiles including HCX Connector and Cloud systems. This action removes the WAN-Optimization service configuration from the management plane.
   
   HCX Standalone/443 UI → Interconnect → Compute Profiles -- Edit — unselect WAN-Optimization service.
