Cannot restore VCSA from file-based backup

Issue/Introduction

vCenter file-based backup restore is failing in Stage 2 with "Encryption password is required because the backup is encrypted."

Environment

vCenter 8.x

Cause

Backup file is encrypted.

Resolution

Follow the resolution steps in KB "Encryption password is required because the backup is encrypted" error during vCenter VAMI restore
