Issue/Introduction

  • The following NSX UI error "Provider interface in default tier0 /infra/tier-0s/<tier0-name> should cover edge paths in VRF interfaces. (Error code: 528009)" is observed after trying to configure an interface in a new VRF gateway.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

The parent Tier 0 needs to have an external interface configured before the same can be configured on the VRF gateways as per Deploy an NSX VRF-Lite with BGP.

Resolution

  • Configure an external interface on the parent Tier 0.
  • Retry configuring the interface on the VRF gateway.

Additional Information

See Deploy an NSX VRF-Lite with BGP for more information.
