Virtual machine out of network connectivity with dvPort IDs with prefix 'h-'

Issue/Introduction

• The problem started after changing the vCenter portgroup, the virtual machine is connected to h-port on the DVS.
• The virtual machine is not reachable over network. 
  
  

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0

Cause

Due to loss of connectivity, the h-port (ESXi host local port) is not pushed from vCenter to a permanent one while vCenter is unreachable.

Resolution

Change the virtual network adapter of the virtual machine to a different dvPortgroup, then move it back to the original dvPortgroup.
