Logical ports promotion failed during Manager objects to policy objects promotion - M2P promotion

Issue/Introduction

• You are peforming Manager to policy promotion in NSX 3.X.
• You are seeing that the logical ports have failed to promote during the promotion.
• Verifying the UUIDs of the failed ports from the feedback in the M2P UI, you can see that the logical ports and corresponding segment ports are already present in the NSX UI's global search.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Datacenter

Cause

The Failed logical ports are false positives , you can see that the logical ports and corresponding segment ports are already present in the NSX UI's global search.

This is a known Bug in 3.X.

 

Resolution

These are false positives and can be ignored while doing M2P in NSX 3.X



Fixed in NSX 4.X.

Post upgrading the NSX 4.X we will not be seeing the false positive objects in M2P promotion.
