Is it mandatory to reconfigure existing replications to use vSphere Replication with enhanced replication capabilities before importing them into SDDC 5.2.1

Issue/Introduction

  • Recovery UI showing the information banner 'You are currently using the legacy vSphere Replication, which will be deprecated in the next release. Transition over to the Enhanced vSphere Replication.'
  • SDDC Manager is being upgraded to 5.2.1.

Environment

  • SDDC 5.2.1
  • vSphere Replication 9.0.2 

Cause

Traditional vSphere Replication data path is being deprecated and replaced by Enahnced vSphere Replication.  

Resolution

It is not required to transition over until the next release of vSphere Replication.  For more information see KB: You are currently using the legacy vSphere Replication, which will be deprecated in the next release. Transition over to the Enhanced vSphere Replication.
