This alert is generated by the NMLX5 driver due to a firmware bug in the physical network adapter (VMNIC).
The issue occurs when the pNIC firmware version is too old or incompatible with the ESXi driver.

Resolution

Verify the firmware version of the physical network adapter (VMNIC).

  • If the firmware version is listed as compatible, update the firmware to the latest available version from the hardware vendor.
