Issue/Introduction

After attempting a placement policy change with several errors a VM fails to power on with the erro:
[################################] The operation could not be performed because the argument is invalid. A specified parameter was not correct: parent

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

There is an invalid reference in the database for the VM after the unsuccessful change.

Resolution

Follow Unable to power on a virtual machine due to Internal Server Error to resolve the issue.
