ERROR: "error while bootstrapping the machine" when creating a CSE cluster

Issue/Introduction

• Container Service Extension (CSE) Kubernetes cluster creation fails with error:

[error while bootstrapping the machine [abc/EPHEMERAL-TEMP-VM]; unable to wait for post customization phase [guestinfo.cloudinit.target.cluster.capvcd.init.status] : [invalid postcustomization phase: [failed] for key [guestinfo.cloudinit.target.cluster.capvcd.init.status] for vm [EPHEMERAL-TEMP-VM] due to :[Warning: resource namespaces/kapp-controller is missing the kubectl.kubernetes.io/last-applied-configuration annotation which is required by kubectl apply. kubectl apply should only be used on resources created declaratively by either kubectl create--save-config or kubectl apply.

Cause

This issue is caused by a Distributed Firewall Rule which is dropping communication

Resolution

To resolve this issue, review the Distributed Firewall Rules and verify traffic is being allowed
