IBM i5 / AS400 connector – Missing Server ID and Port Fields During First-Time Setup

Issue/Introduction

When performing a first-time setup to create an AS/400 (OS400) endpoint in CA Identity Manager, the User Console only provides fields for Manager Name and Password. There are no options to enter Server ID/Hostname or Port, which are required for connecting to the AS400 system. Similar options are provided in the Provisioning Manager as well. 

Please advise if:

• This is a known limitation or configuration issue.
• Server / Endpoint system details should be set elsewhere (e.g., Connector Server properties).

Identity Manager 14.5.1 (Latest hotfix)

Cause

This is not a defect. 

Resolution

To acquire the AS400 (OS/400) connector, use the following instructions:

• In the place of Endpoint Name, enter the server name/hostname or IP address of the AS400 endpoint.

• In the place of Manager Name, enter the user ID that you need to connect to the AS400 endpoint.

• For Password, enter the corresponding password.
