Issue/Introduction

This article describes a scenario when Email Security.cloud is not able to deliver an email to a specific domain or recipient with a bounceback error code: 554 Local Policy Violation

Cause

This happens mostly to an explicit Blacklisting of our IP's or specific content policy on their end. Alternatively, other factors causing the bounceback could be related to a mismatch in email authentication (like SPF, DKIM, or DMARC), or the email content being flagged as spam.

 

Resolution

Since The error code 554 Local Policy Violation is the result of the end recipient's server rejecting the mail. This is mainly the responsibility of the recipient's domain Administrator to investigate the Issue and to take appropriate steps such as :

1 - To verify no explicit blacklist or block against our IP's 

2 - Email Content control against the sender, especially when 3rd party domain is using other 3rd party vendors for Email Security scans.
