Issue/Introduction

After importing Aria Automation 8.18.1 into VCF 9 Fleet manger and triggering the upgrade, the Pre-check for Password Validations may fail.

Clicking on "View" in the Recommendations column shows that the password is not valid and must meet certain criteria.

Environment

VCF Fleet Manager 9.x

Cause

The password selected in the Components Section of the Upgrade task must Contain at least 15 Characters, One Uppercase, One Lowercase, One Number and one special case Character. Supported special characters are !@#$%^&*

Resolution

Use a password that meets the criteria.

  1. Click back to the Components section of the Upgrade task
  2. In the Password section, select another password from the locker that meets the criteria as per step 7 in the documentation: Upgrade VMware Aria Automation to VCF Automation 9.0
Note: It must Contain at least 15 Characters, One Uppercase, One Lowercase, One Number and one special case Character. Supported special characters are !@#$%^&*
  3. If there is not an existing locker entry that satisfies the criteria, add a new password by clicking "ADD PASSWORD" at the upper right and enter a 15 character password that satisfies the criteria.
  4. Click "Next" to the end of the Upgrade Task ad run the Pre-checks again.
