Issue/Introduction

"Authentication Failed: Bad Username or Credentials presented" in collector logs for VCF Operations for Networks

You have NSX-T as a data source in VCF Operations for Networks and are getting an error that says the credentials are invalid.

NOTE:  VCF Operations for Networks was formerly named Aria Operations for Networks (AON), and prior to that was named vRealize Network Insight (vRNI).

Cause

Detailed log sequence in the collector logs in /var/log/arkin/collector/ directory of the collector logs shows events like the following:

Resolution

If the events in the logs starting with the oldest log in the rotation do not show the very first occurrence of the event shown, it is not forensically possible to determine the date / time when the issue first occurred.  

To resolve the issue, delete the data source and then re-add it to VCF Operations for Networks.
