Issue/Introduction

Dear Valued Customer,
To ensure your software supply chain remains secure and compliant with industry-best practices, Broadcom is implementing vital security updates for the AKO (Avi Kubernetes Operator) and AMKO (Avi Multi-Cluster Kubernetes Operator) repositories.

Please review the following changes to repository locations and authentication requirements.

Key Changes & Timeline

We are migrating AKO and AMKO images to a new, secure repository.

  • February 1, 2026 — New Repository Live: The new repository is available at avi.packages.broadcom.com. This repository requires token-based authentication.
  • March 15, 2026— Hard Cutoff: The legacy repository (projects.packages.broadcom.com) will be decommissioned. Anonymous access will be permanently disabled.

Note: Any connections attempting to use the old repository or anonymous access after March 15, 2026, will fail.

Action Required: How to Prepare

To ensure uninterrupted access to your downloads, please complete the following steps before March 15, 2026:

  1. Verify Support Contract: Access to generate authentication tokens is restricted to customers with an active Avi support contract.
  2. Generate Your Token: Visit support.broadcom.com to generate your unique authentication token. Follow these steps from the Broadcom KB here.
  3. Update Your Configuration: Point your helm charts to the new URL (avi.packages.broadcom.com) and configure your environment to use your new token. Steps to update AKO/AMKO helm packages are here.
