Warning Occurs When decommissioning an ESXi Host in SDDC Manager

Issue/Introduction

The following warning is displayed when decommissioning an ESXi host in SDDC Manager.

Due to the failure to remove VMknic X.X.X.X from ESXi Host XXX, the following IP address X.X.X.X will not be released from the network pool to avoid possible IP conflicts. You should first manually remove the IP address from the host and then release it from the NetworkPool. Refer to the KB article at https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/94984 for more details. NOT_RELEASED_IP_ADDRESS_DUE_TO_FAILED_VMKNIC_REMOVAL

Environment

VCF 5.2.x

Cause

This occurs because an unused IP address for vMotion/vSAN remains in SDDC Manager.

Resolution

Please remove the unnecessary IP address by following the steps in the Resolution section of KB 316098.
