Issue/Introduction

• The below message is displayed during  bulk Migration validation check,
  VMware tools were not detected on VM. Select the Force Power-Off VM option if Tools cannot be installed.

Environment

VMware HCX

Cause

VMware Tools must be installed on the guest OS in order to shut down the virtual machine during a Bulk Migration.

Resolution

Please install VMware Tools on the guest OS to properly shut down the virtual machine during the migration.

If you cannot install VMware Tools, you can use the "Force Power-off VM" option to proceed with the migration.
