iSCSI -- New Setup -- vSphere Client - Storage Adapters: "Devices" and "Paths" are both empty

Issue/Introduction

You have configured iSCSi on Host by completing these tasks:

• Configured / Defined the ISCSI Software adapter
• Configured Discovery (e.g. Static Paths)
• Determined that the Paths showing under "Storage Adapters" are correct (= vSphere Client --> Host --> Configure --> Storage Adapters )
• Defined the Host on the Array side

 

You noticed that the LUN you assigned is not showing up in ESX.

In the vSphere Client ---> Host --> Configure --> Storage Adapters --> Devices and Paths are empty

Cause

You have not configured a VMKernel Port dedicated for iSCSI and/or have not assigned it to the Storage Adapter. As a result "Network Port Binding" is empty.
