VMware Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations) 8.x

Issue/Introduction

When logging in to Aria Operations UI as users from the same domain, one user is seeing fewer details of vCenter than the other.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

The permissions from All vCenter Servers users come from the user account permissions configured in vCenter, and users from authentication sources are defined in Aria Operations.

Resolution

1. For All vCenter Servers users to see all the objects, please refer to vCenter Server Users in VMware Aria Operations and configure Roles, Privileges, and Permissions in vCenter Server.

2. Due to the known limitation (vCenter Server users cannot create or schedule reports in VMware Aria Operations), it's highly recommended that you authenticate with a Local, LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, or vIDM user that has a role and permissions granted through Aria Operations.
