Issue/Introduction

DWH Sync is hanging, other DWH jobs such as Load Data Warehouse - Full, Incremental are in Waiting or Scheduled state and data is not getting updated

"DWH Sync" is also known as "Instantaneous Sync" and executes stored procedure CLARITY_DWH_SYNC_SP. This is the real-time DWH synchronization on updating data in Clarity as opposed to the Clarity Load Data Warehouse job. For more information, check Broadcom Data Warehouse Documentation

Environment

Clarity 16.3.3 +

Resolution

  • DWH Sync is incompatible with Load DWH, so when DWH Sync is hanging, Load DWH will be in Waiting state and will not be running as per design. 
  • If DWH Sync is hanging for a long time, it can be reset.

To reset the job, do the below in UI:

Basic Reset for DWH Sync:

  1. Go to Clarity Classic - Administration - System Settings
  2. Disable DWH Sync by disabling the toggle "Enable Instantaneous Sync", Save
  3. Run Load DWH Full job to successful completion
  4. Then enable DWH Sync back again

This should work to reset the DWH Sync and get back to process.

If you have still issues after doing the above, engage with your DBA and perform the below expanded steps:

Expanded Steps to Reset DWH Sync:

  1. Go to Clarity Classic - Administration - System Settings
  2. Disable DWH Sync by disabling the toggle "Enable Instantaneous Sync", Save
  3. Remove the process DWH_SYNC_SP on the database
  4. Restart BG
  5. Run Load DWH Full job to successful completion
  6. Then enable DWH Sync back again
