Issue/Introduction

The upgrade of VCF Automation from version 9.0.0 to 9.0.1 fails during the Synthetic Checker stage with the error:

INFO vrlcm[76298] [http-nio-8080-exec-5] [c.v.v.l.r.c.RequestController] – Retry error cause data : [ {
"messageId" : "LCMVMSP10035",
"message" : "Synthetic checker on the application platform failed.",
"eventId" : "<Event_ID>",
"retry" : true,
"exceptionMessage" : "Synthetic check failed. Please refer to Broadcom Knowledge Base Article https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/389510 for remediation details.,\"vcfa-fqdn-prelude-default : failed to execute \"GET\" request: Get \"https://<VCF-A_FQDN>\": tls: failed to verify certificate: x509: certificate signed by unknown authority\"",

The synthetic checker is triggered as part of the upgrade workflow to validate SFTP configuration, and this check did not succeed.

Environment

VCF Automation 9.0

Cause

Certain SFTP configuration values were not correctly persisted across patches. When the patch was applied, the newly rendered values defaults to null, causing the Synthetic Checker to fail and placing the VMSP platform package into an inconsistent and unhealthy state.

Resolution

This is a known VMSP issue and has been addressed in the VCF 9.0.2 release.
