Error: "LCMVSPHERECONFIG1000081 - Failed to shutdown virtual machine" during upgrade

Issue/Introduction

Failure to upgrade VCF Operations for Logs 9.0.1.

When upgrading VCF Operations for Logs from 9.0.0 to 9.0.1 through VCF Lifecycle, the process fails to shut down VMs and cannot proceed past Stage 1.

The following error code is displayed:

LCMVSPHERECONFIG1000081 - Failed to shutdown virtual machine

Attempts to shut down and take snapshots of the virtual machines manually also failed.

 

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0.1

VCF Operations for Logs 9.0.1

Resolution

1. Take notes of the network configurations of the VCF Operations for Logs nodes (IP addresses, DNS settings, etc).

2. Log in to VCF Operations UI, then go to Fleet Management > Lifecycle > Components. Locate the VCF Operations for Logs, and click on the 3 dots next to it. Then click Delete.

3. Follow Deploying VCF Operations for logs to deploy a new VCF Operations for Logs 9.0.1 cluster.
