Issue/Introduction

There is an environment where the permission "ImageBuilder" exists in roles "Administrator" and "No cryptography administrator" and an environment where they do not.

In an environment where the permission "ImageBuilder" exists in roles "Administrator" and "No cryptography administrator", the following permissions exist.

ImageBuilder
   Depot
・     Create
・     Delete
   Profile
・     Create
・     Delete
・     Export

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0.x

Cause

When vmware-imagebuilder service is started, the permission "ImageBuilder" is added to roles "Administrator" and "No cryptography administrator".


For example, if you perform one of the following operations, vmware-imagebuilder service is started.

- vSphere Client -> Menu -> Auto Deploy -> Click "Enable Image Builder"

- vSphere Client -> Menu -> Auto Deploy -> Click "Enable Auto Deploy and Image Builder"

- Run "service-control --start vmware-imagebuilder" on vCSA CLI

Resolution

There is no problem with the operation of vCenter Server, so no action is required.
