Steps to rename the robot of a UIM secondary hub

Issue/Introduction

Sometime it becomes necessary to change the robot name of one of your secondary hubs.  Is there a process to do this?

Environment

• UIM 23.4+

Resolution

• Change the robot name on the hub robot controller probe (or in the robot.cfg file).
  • Change in the controller IM config:
    
  • Change in the robot.cfg file:
    
    • Update the robotname key:    
      robotname = Sample-Robot-Name
      
      
• Recreate 'Get' queues on other hubs that reference the old robot name.
  • (Or just edit existing queues by selecting the new address and queue.)
  • The hub with the get queues will need to restart to get the changed queues to connect.
    
    
• It is likely that you'll also need to revalidate probes if they don't start.  You'll see the following:

  • Just select the affected probes and right-click->Security->Validate as below:

    • The probes will restart momentarily.  You may need to refresh if they don't appear to come up quickly enough.
