Issue/Introduction

  • VCF installer switched to SDDC Manager mode during the deployment of the management domain.
  • After deploying management domain, "Review Passwords" page doesn't show the root, vcf, and local admin users' passwords for SDDC Manager.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0.x

Cause

  • When the VCF installer is deployed outside the management domain, it deploys a new SDDC Manager appliance for which passwords are generated as part of the installation workflow.
Therefore, these generated passwords must be displayed to the user so the user is able to access the SDDC Manager appliance. This is the input specification for this scenario.

  • When the installer is deployed in the management domain, the VCF installer will not deploy a new SDDC Manager appliance. The root, vcf, and local admin users' passwords are provided by the user during the installer appliance deployment. Therefore, these passwords are not known to the installer and cannot be displayed on the Review Passwords page. This is the input specification for this scenario.

Resolution

This is expected behavior. To use SDDC Manager once the deployment is complete, you need to use the passwords for the vcf, root, and local admin users that were provided when the VCF Installer appliance was deployed.

Additional Information

This is the Review Passwords Page for an environment where the VCF installer has newly deployed SDDC Manager.
