Issue/Introduction

We plan to upgrade our CA Service Desk Manager from 17.4.1 to 17.4.5.0 and according to

HTML Tags Sanitization (RU05 release notes)

we would need to run the html tag sanitization right after installation of patch.

However according 

Rich Text Editor Capability in CA SDM(existing documentation)

this does not seem to be mandatory.

Is step in 17.4.5.0 post installation regarding HTML tag sanitization really mandatory?

Environment

CA Service Desk Manager 17.4.5.0 upgraded from 17.4.1

Resolution

This is a documentation error. This step is not mandatory.

You can run the sanitization tool at low traffic hours like weekend. And you could choose to run it multiple times for different types of tickets and active and inactive tickets if you have a lot of tickets, including closed tickets.
