Unable to configure HCX MON to work with hardware provided VXLAN extensions

Issue/Introduction

• 3'rd party hardware provided VXLAN network extensions are being used to extend networks between sites. 
• Trying and failing to find a way to enable HCX MON (Mobility Optimized Networking) for these extended networks. 

 

Environment

HCX 4.x

Cause

• Use of non-VMware hardware provided VXLAN extension products is not supported. 

Resolution

 

• Unextend the non-VMware VXLAN extension and then re-extend using HCX network extension.

• Enable MON as needed.
