While using the VMware Cloud Foundation Installer to deploy a VCF Fleet, the Validate & Deploy step fails with the error below -
Deployment Specification
Domain "sddc_hostname" in DNS Specification is not valid
Remediation: Provide valid FQDN for Domain 'sddc_hostname' in the DNS specification
Note: subsequent validations will also show as "Failed" with a message -
Validation skipped due to an issue found in another task that this validation relies on
VCF 9.0
DNS resolution issues in the environment.
An example of such an issue is that an nslookup on the IP that the SDDC Manager fqdn resolves to does not return the same fqdn.
Resolve the issue with DNS resolution that exists in the environment and retry the deployment.
The deployment is then expected to succeed.
