Issue/Introduction

  • Logins using AD authentication time-out. After clicking the 'Login' button the loading dialogue spins continuously.
  • Local logins work.
  • Restarting the cluster may temporarily fix the issue, but over time it recurs.

Environment

Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.x

Cause

In the authentication configuration, if there are two domain controllers in the 'Default Domain' field, we may experience this issue.

Resolution

Update the AD authentication configuration so there is only one DC listed in the 'Default Domain' field.

  1. Navigate to 'Configuration' -> 'Authentication' -> 'Active Directory'
  2. Remove extra DC's from the 'Default Domain' field, there should be only one DC.
  3. Click 'Test Connection' to confirm connection to the DC.
  4. Accept any certificate which may be presented.
  5. Click 'Save' to save the configuration.

Additional Information

The official documentation outlines this process and indicates that only one DC may be present.
