Multiple Transport nodes report 'unknown' status

Issue/Introduction

  • After any configuration change on the NSX manager or transport node, multiples transport nodes report 'unknown' status.
  • Infra has more than 100 NSX components, example: Host transport node, T1, T0 etc,.
  • Transport node status check using API command shows it is up. 
    API Command : GET  https://<nsx-ip>/api/v1/transport-nodes/<tn-id>/status

  • NSX UI reports following alarms "Transport Node list failed:. Client 'admin' exceeded request rate of 100 per second"

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

NSX has an API limit of 100 requests per second, If the request exceeds this number NSX UI fails to report the correct status of the Transport nodes.

No datapath impact because of this issue.

Resolution

No action required, wait for the NSX manager complete the API requests and report the correct status.
