Issue/Introduction

Logging in to Aria Operations using the Active Directory shortname (without the AD domain suffix) fails

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x 

Cause

Common Name option in Authentication Source settings is configured to use userPrincipalName.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, please follow the below steps:

  1. Login to Aria Operations UI 
  2. Navigate to Administration - Control Panel - Authentication Sources
  3. Edit the AD Authentication Source where shortname login is required 
  4. Expand Details, and set Common Name to samAccountName
  5. Save the configuration and synchronize user groups
