Issue/Introduction

The Telegraf agent is configured with a ping check to monitor the availability of remote systems. However, for certain targets, the reported availability intermittently falls to 0%, even though the Ping Check status remains green and no packet loss is detected between the source and destination.

Manual ping tests run directly from the Telegraf agent to the affected hosts confirms normal connectivity. When the Ping Check is restarted, the availability briefly returns to 100%, but it eventually drops back to 0% again.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

This behavior is by design.
The maximum allowed application services count per telegraf agent machine is 200.

Resolution

Deploy additional Telegraf agents to support monitoring of more than 200 application services.
