In scenarios where NSX agents on ESXi hosts - such as nsx-proxy, nsx-nestdb, nsx-opsagent, nsx-cfgagent, and nsx-exporter - appear in a Down state on the NSX Host Transport Node page, users may want to determine whether Aria Operations provides metrics to monitor these individual NSX agents or if it only reports the overall Host Transport Node health.
This article clarifies which Aria Operations metrics, if any, can be used to monitor the status of these NSX agents.
Aria Operations 8.18.x
Aria Operations does not expose individual NSX agent-level metrics (nsx-proxy, nsx-nestdb, nsx-opsagent, nsx-cfgagent, nsx-exporter) in the UI or default dashboards. As a result, users cannot monitor agent-specific health directly within this version.
This capability is available starting with VCF Operations 9.0.x. To gain the visibility into individual NSX agent metrics, upgrade to VCF Operations 9.0.x or later.
