Issue/Introduction

After updating to or installing Virtual Appliance 14.5 SP1 on CentOS9 or we are no longer able to backup the Provisioning components using the eCSoption /r as described in the documentation:
Backup Provisioning Components

Attempting to run the eCSoption /r command results in "error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

imps@iga-vapp VAPP-14.5.1 (###.###.###.###):~ > eCSoption /r
eCSoption: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Environment

Virtual Appliance 14.5 sp1

Cause

libstdc++.so.5 is no longer shipping with Redhat versions and must be manually deployed.   Depending on the 14.5 deployment or upgrade path this library may be missing from the Virtual Appliance OS.

Resolution

Please open a support case and reference this KB and Defect DE617303

Support will provide a patch to replace the missing library allowing the registry to be backed up.
