IT Management Suite Software Management Solution

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to import the Outlook for Windows package from the Microsoft Store using the IT Management Suite (ITMS) console (or SMP Console), the process fails, and the user receives the error message: "No download URLs found". This issue can occur when the "download dependencies" option is selected during the import process.

Steps to Reproduce the Issue:

  1. Open the ITMS Console.

  2. Navigate to Manage > Software.

  3. Click Add Software > Import Microsoft Store package.

  4. Search for "Outlook for Windows".

  5. Choose the X64 package (or X86/Arm64).

  6. Select "Agree to terms" and check the option to "download dependencies".

  7. Click Download.

Result: "No download URLs found" is displayed.

Environment

ITMS 8.8

Cause

The issue was identified as a limitation within the ITMS product's logic for processing Microsoft Store API responses.

The root cause is a "case-sensitivity issue" when matching the package ID:

  • The ITMS's case-sensitive logic failed to find the "main" package due to the case mismatch, resulting in nothing being selected for download and leading to the "No download URLs found" error.

Resolution

This issue has been reported to our Broadcom Dev team. A fix has been targeted for our next release: ITMS 8.8.1.

For current ITMS 8.8 users, a pointfix is available.

The Point Fix has been published publicly and is available via the following Broadcom Knowledge Base article:

From the mentioned Cumulative Pointfix article, install SMF_8_8_PF_v2.zip (or later
