Issue/Introduction

When attempting to upgrade a VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) 8.x license key to a 9.x license key in the Broadcom Support Portal, the portal returns the error:

"No data available to upgrade"

Resolution

This is an expected behavior of the licensing process for Site Recovery Manager upgrades from version 8.x to 9.x.

The existing SRM 8.x license key is compatible with and valid for use with the 9.X version (also known as VMware Live Site Recovery). Therefore, the support portal does not provide an upgrade path for the license, as the key itself does not need to be changed or converted.
