Filenames with Chinese characters are not properly displayed in EDR events

Issue/Introduction

While reviewing events in Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response (SEDR) version 4.10 or 4.11 you notice that filenames with Chinese characters are not displayed properly.

Environment

SEDR 4.10/4.11

Cause

An incorrect character set was utilized which caused some Chinese characters to be missing or incorrectly displayed.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in SEDR version 4.12.  Broadcom support recommends customers upgrade to SEDR 4.12 to receive this update as well as many others.
