Error "Failed to trigger image synchronization" when running the "Sync Images" task for vCenter content library images and templates in Aria Automation

Issue/Introduction

• When attempting to synchronize images from the vCenter Content Library into VMware Aria Automation, the process fails with the error message: "Failed to trigger image synchronization".

• This issue prevents the availability of vCenter images for deployments within Aria Automation.

Environment

• Aria Automation 8.x

Cause

• The cause was a transient internal service state failure related to authorization, preventing the image synchronization job from initiating correctly when triggered by an Active Directory (AD) user.

Resolution

Initiate the image synchronization process using System Domain administrator credentials.

1. Log in to Aria Automation using a System Domain administrator account.

2. Navigate to Service Broker > Infrastructure > Connections > Cloud Accounts.

3. Open the relevant vCenter Cloud Account, click the "Sync Images" button.

4. Allow the synchronization to complete successfully.
