Error: "Unable to press any keys like FN F2 ,f11 ,f12" after ESXi 7.0.3 OS installation

Issue/Introduction

• Using iDRAC function keys such as FN F2 ,f11 ,f12 are not working after ESXi 7.0.3 OS installation, however it is working for other ESXi hosts the same version

• The  virtual keyboard is not reacting as well

   

• Settings are compared with working ESXi host and confirmed to be the same

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.X

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.X

Cause

• iDRAC stuck, read more at iDRAC keyboard not working

Resolution

1. Confirm settings are correct for "Keyboard/Mouse Attach State" attribute on Virtual Console page. It need to be in "Auto-attach" or "Attached" state
2. Once confirmed the above is correct reboot the host and reboot iDRAC
