The update check through the online repository in VMware Cloud Director Availability fails with the error message: “Operation canceled due to an unexpected error.”
The appliance does not list any updates even though a newer version is available.

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.3.1

Verify and restore network connectivity:
From the appliance shell, run:
If the connection fails, check:
Outbound firewall rules allow HTTPS (port 443) from the appliance.
DNS resolution is working for the repository host.
No network routing issues (default gateway, proxy settings).
Refer to the network requirements for VCDA appliances
After connectivity is confirmed, retry the update check:
In the appliance UI, go to Settings --> About → Check for updates.
The repository should now be reachable, and updates listed.
