Issue/Introduction

VM is unable to boot up after a reboot or power off, while having an active replication configured via vSphere Replication.

The following screens are seen from the VM Console upon boot attempt:

Environment

vSphere Replication: 9.0.4

ESXi: 8.0u3
vCenter: 8.0u3

VM Guest OS: Windows Server 2022

Cause

Under the VM Hard Disk, an NVMe Controller is used for the 'Virtual Device Node'

Resolution

Remove the VM replication completely within the vSphere Replication UI

Or

Set the VM Hard Disk to use a SCSI Controller for their 'Virtual Device Node'
