Issue/Introduction

A DX UIM Dashboard created in Dashboard Designer is intermittently popping up with an error message:

The incoming request has too many parameters. The server supports a maximum of 2100 parameters. Reduce the number of parameters and resend the request.

 

Environment

DX UIM 23.4.6 and prior with MS SQL Backend database

Cause

Too many origins

Resolution

This error can occur intermittently in an environment with over 2100 unique Origins.

If possible, reduce the number of origins by cleaning up old Discovery data (deleting systems that no longer exist) or QoS data (removing or merging entries in S_QOS_DATA that may refer to old or incorrect origins).

A fix for this issue will be released in DX UIM 23.4.7 (CU7) which is expected around the first quarter of 2026.
