Issue/Introduction

GSLB site is showing a GSLB services up even with an incorrect Health monitor set for pool members

Environment

Affected Version: 30.2.2

Cause

This issue happens due to a known issue.

Following sequence of events leads to hitting this scenario.

1. There are few GSLB Services which are in disabled state.
2. SE group hosting these GSLB Services is having legacy active standby HA.
3. Switchover of DNS VS happens due to reboot of active SE and these deactivated GSLB Services are not updated on the new active SE. Later these GSLB Services are re-enabled.
4. GSLB Services on both SEs are marked for standby now and we fail to create HMs for standby due to a known issue even if HM on standby is true.

Since there is no HM created on both SEs , GSLB Services remain UP . Later after few hours a periodic se_list notification comes to SEs and HMs are created making the GSLB Services down which is the correct state.

Note: HMs created  due to se_list update are not permanent and any GS update clears them.

Resolution

The issue is fixed in Avi version 31.2.1 and  30.2.5

Additional Information

Workaround : Delete and re create such GSes.
