Introduction: 

Client automation uses x509 based certificate authentication to ensure that only authorized client processes can communicate. This is documented here.

Question:

Does Client Automation support sha-2 certificates?

Answer: 

Support for sha-2 certificates is currently planned for the next minor release (r14.1) and is targeted for end of Q2 FY17. 

This is not planned to be back ported into earlier releases.
