PIM messages not being sent by Tier-0 gateway

Issue/Introduction

• PIM was enabled on Tier-0 gateway uplink interfaces however, no PIM messages were being sent by the Tier-0 to it's peer.
• The configuration of multicast on the Tier-0 gateways was performed a few days prior to the ToR configuration for multicast being completed.
• In the Tier-0 VRF, you see no PIM interfaces:
  edge01(tier0_sr[1])> get pim interfaces

• You will see log lines indicating the amount of pim interfaces is 0, on the Edge in /var/log/syslog:

Resolution

Workaround:
On the Tier-0 with Multicast configured, toggle Multicast from on to off and back on again.
