Issue/Introduction

Deploying VIDB via Fleet Management is failing at step 6 with the following error.
LCMVROPSYSTEM30027
Exception encountered while fetching auth source.

Selecting 'More Detail' on the error in Fleet Management shows the following:
com.vmware.vrealize.lcm.util.certificate.exceptions.EngineException: Failed to add VCF Identity Broker to VCF Operations as resourceId is not discoverable.
at com.vmware.vrealize.lcm.plugin.core.vrops.vidb.tasks.AddExternalVidbTask.execute(AddExternalVidbTask.java:123)

Environment

VCF 9.0.0.0
VCF 9.0.1.0

Cause

In the vCenter /etc/vmware-vpx/instance.cfg the instanceUuid is in UPPERCASE but is expected to be in lowercase.

Expected value of instanceUuid would be similar to.

instanceUuid=fake0a8962d-86t8-43fake-8771-39ca91fake

Resolution

The issue will be resolved in the 9.0.2.0 version expected in early 2026.

There is no workaround at this time and editing the instanceUuid is not recommended.
