Issue/Introduction

How to export or import a CA Business Service Insight contract. 

This procedure can be used to copy a contract from one environment to another.

NOTE:  If moving contracts between environments, both the source and target environments need to be at the same CA Business Service Insight version

Environment

CA Business Service Insight 8.3.x and 9.x

Resolution

Export the Contract

1.  Via the BSI UI, navigate to Administration -> Content Transfer -> Export

2.  Under the Export option, you will have to mark the contract or the contracts that you would like to export 

3. At the bottom of the screen you will have to fill in the "file name" for the export file

      

4.  Press the Export button. This will generate the export file and could take some time. Under the directory where CA Business Service Insight was installed (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Cloud Insight), you will find a directory named "Packages" - here you will find the export file generated

Import the Contract 

1. Via the BSI UI, navigate to Administration -> Content Transfer -> Packages

2.  Select the location of the file to be imported and click the UPLOAD button

3. Navigate to Administration -> Content Transfer -> Import

4.  Under the Import Option,  enter the Package that was uploaded under "File to import" and the select the option in case you get a "On collision" and press the IMPORT button
