CICS SMF records not getting loaded to Matune PMA.

Issue/Introduction

The CICS regions SIT parameters MN=ON and MNPER=ON have been specified to produce SMF records but the SMP records are not loaded to Matune PMA.

The CICS parameter MN=ON activates the CICS monitoring facility, which collects performance and resource data to be written to System Management Facilities (SMF) records. This is a system initialization parameter, meaning it is set when a CICS region starts, and the default is MN=OFF

The CICS system initialization parameter MNPER=ON activates the collection of performance class monitoring data. This parameter must be used in conjunction with the main monitoring switch, MN=ON.

Cause

The CICS regions were excluded from PMA.

 

Resolution

Check the PMA EXCLUSION VSAM dataset KSDSEXC and make sure the CICS regions are not excluded.
In this case the CICS regions CICSLPD, CICSLPF and C* were present in the PMA KSDSEXC exclusion dataset.
