Issue/Introduction

When using the Canvas view in ConnectALL to create a new connection, the connection details are not immediately and automatically associated with the adapter icon.

After adding a new connection and saving, the adapter icon outline remains grey (not associated) instead of turning green (associated). This prevents the connection from being immediately available for creating new automations, requiring an extra manual step to link it.

Environment

  • Product: ConnectALL

  • Affected Version(s): 3.9 (and potentially earlier versions)

  • Environment Type: SaaS or On-Premise

Cause

This behavior was identified as a product defect (DE175978) where the new connection details were not immediately associated with the icon when created via the Canvas view.

Resolution

This issue was resolved in ConnectALL version 4.0.

Upgrade to ConnectALL version 4.0 (or a later release) to ensure new connections created via the Canvas view are automatically linked to the adapter icon.

Workaround for Older Versions

If you cannot upgrade immediately, you can manually associate the connection using the following steps:

  1. Drag and drop an adapter icon (e.g., Rally Software) onto the Canvas view.

  2. Click the new icon and select the plus (+ icon) to add a new connection.

  3. Enter the new connection details, and click Save.

    • Result: The icon outline is grey, and the connection is not associated.

  4. Reopen the adapter icon by clicking it again.

  5. Select the magnifying glass icon within the connection popup. This action will automatically associate the connection with the icon, and the border should then turn green.

Additional Information

  • The issue was more reliably reproduced when the automation was placed in a user-defined group at the time of connection creation.
