Issue/Introduction

Users are unable to add the workload domain as a Cloud Account in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation 9, while the management domain can be added successfully.

Environment

VCF Automation 9.x

Cause

The workload domain vCenter is in a "disconnected" state in VCF Automation (VCFA). VCFA requires the workload domain to be in a "connected" state for successful registration and addition as a Cloud Account.

Resolution

To resolve this, please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Verify that the workload domain vCenter is "disconnected" in VCFA.
2. Disable and "unregister" the vCenter from VCFA.
3. Perform a "Refresh VCF Instance" operation (available as a Day-2 action).
4. After the refresh completes, confirm that the workload domain vCenter shows as "connected".
5. Retry adding the workload domain as a Cloud Account in VCFA — it should now succeed.
